Terms used in this article:
- a Till is a cash register or drawer where cash is stored for easy counter operations
- a Teller is an employee operating a Till
- a current account is a personal account attached to a customer
- a Vault is a safe deposit, where the cash is stored. Cash is usually transferred from Vault to Till and back at the beginning and end of each day.
To perform Till opening, click on the Open button. In the pop-up window select the Teller who will be responsible for this Till from the list of employees from the drop-down list.
After selection, click Submit to save or Cancel to discard.
Transfer from Vault
To transfer funds from a Vault, click a Transfer from vault button. In the pop-up window select the Vault from the drop-down list and provide amount which has to be transferred in USD (the name is taken from your main currency settings) field. Fill-in Comment textbox if required and click the Submit button to save.
Transfer to Vault
To transfer funds to a Vault, click a Transfer to vault button. In the pop-up window, select the Vault from the drop-down list and provide amount which has to be transferred in USD (the name is taken from your main currency settings) field. Fill-in Comment textbox if required and click the Submit button to save.
To make a Till closure click the Close button. In the pop-up window, click Submit to save or Cancel to discard.
If the till the balance is not zero, any cash remaining in the Till will be transferred to the Vault at the time of closing.
Operations with till
Inside Teller Management, you can click the name of the Till on which transactions should be conducted. By clicking the Operations tab on the left side, you can then register Till operations. Inside of each Till, you can manage four operations:
- Deposit to current account
- Withdraw from current account
- Deposit to savings account
- Withdraw from savings account
The process is similar for those four operations: choose a customer account you are working with, and an amount to be deposited or withdrawn. You will be asked to fill the description field and to select depositor. After that, click the Print check button to print Word document with provided information and finally click the Deposit/Withdraw button appearing at the upper right-hand corner.
